Avinash Meetoo

Hi! My name is Avinash Meetoo and I live in Mauritius. When I was a kid, I was a computer geek and, when I grew up, I found it natural to study Computer Science (or, more precisely, Informatics.) After eight years of teaching at university level and despising what research has become, I decided to quit academic life and create my own company, Knowledge Seven Ltd, to provide consultancy, support and training for Linux, Java, PHP and MySQL.

I am a fan of Open Source Software. In fact, I founded the Mauritius Linux User Group. I am not ashamed to say that I am also an Apple fanboy and I love my MacBook.

During my free time, I browse, I blog, I tweet and I program. I also listen to music a lot and I compose too (I've released two albums by the way.) I also like photography.

I am married to Christina and we have two kids: Anya and Kyan.
